How to create a digital image file from an existing physical art piece

The easiest way is to scan your photo or artwork on a flatbed scanner,
if the image will fit.

If the image is too large to be scanned or if you don't have a scanner,
try these steps:

  • set up your artwork

Lay your artwork flat on a stable surface.
Tip: Use a weight or clip to hold the corners down,
or place a glass picture frame on top to flatten it.

  • position your camera

Hold the camera straight on or directly above the artwork to capture it evenly
Tip: Use the camera's grid feature to line up the edges of the artwork.
You can adjust the photo later in editing to make sure the edges are perfectly aligned.

  • take the photo

Tip: Take the photo in natural light (but avoid direct sunlight) to get accurate colors.
Don't stand between the artwork and the light source to avoid shadows.

  • place your order

Select your blanket size. Upload your photo or image file making sure that it is at
the highest resolution possible. (See our FAQ page for more detail).

Woven blanket Color Variations

Our woven blankets are produced by weaving together six individual colored yarns to create 195 different perceived colors. By combining Red, Blue,Green, Gold, White and Black yarns at different amounts, we get the color palette you see below.

  • Absent from those 195 possible colors are any vibrant, hot, neon, or extremely yellow colors.

  • So, What does this all mean?

    - Primary, vibrant hot and neon and saturated yellows will turn out slightly muted.

    - Gradients, especially high contrast variations, may come out blotchy.

    - Due to the blanket's natural thread color, any parts of your design that include white ink will appear closer to beige in the final print.
